Christmas in NYC

oh so fun, oh so relaxing, oh so good to see my parents and hang out with them and oh so way too many pictures:)

Christmas morning - I read a quote a couple years ago somewhere along the lines of...."one of the best messes made is the mess on Christmas morning...don't clean it up too quickly" I love wrapping paper filled floors and have pictures of my dad dead asleep in his robe in the middle of the Christmas floor with kids running all around him - it's such a fun time

Took a walk through Central Park, so beautiful

We saw Wicked, stood in the cancellation line and luckily it was the day after the blizzard so there were enough cancellations to get us in. Sierra was cracking up during the whole musical, it made me laugh

Another Nelson grab-it-while-it's-still-there smorgasbord - falafel and gyros

some cute boys

nothing like a freezing cold shake at the shake shack to help you keep warm on a freezing cold NY day

an idea Sverre came up with of something to do when you're snowed in and you've got lots of Christmas boxes and lots of time. hello, a christmas robot

when my mom finds something comfortable, she buys like 8 pairs of them in different colors...shoes, shirts you name it. These days her Costco PJ's are on the top of her list and lucky her, she has 3 pairs now

cute sister Lauren and Mike

We saw the Christmas Rockettes Spectacular, which I LOVE. I especially love it because they have a live nativity at the end and read the story of Christ's birth - Hello, none of this"I have to say happy holidays so as not to offend", it's MERRY CHRISTMAS - We are celebrating Christ's birth and I don't understand why people don't get that sometimes these days

some Apple lovers

We really loved going to the mission Christmas conference - it was so fun to see how well my parents interact with those missionaries and to see what a wonderful job they are doing. My mom and dad are both such wonderful example to me of selfless service, just doing what is right and really, they are the best parents I could have asked for

We were the lunch lady servers, we did such a dang good job at handing out that ham and those funeral potatoes

Rachel was a lunch lady with an attitude and Todd was obviously all business - love them

We went to the Natural HIstory museum - it is HUGE - afterwards ate dinner with Katie and Emily, my college roommates who live there

saw the temple - very cool to see the angel Moroni in such a busy, crazy place

going into the city after all our flights were cancelled and we had 4 days before we could get a flight out - it was a ghost town in the city, no taxis, nowhere for the snow to go - really fun day

Times Square - went and saw the musical "In the Heights" which was really good

NYC library - huge and beautiful

Macy's - never seen a store so packed - it was ginormous and Sverre sneakily sprayed some nasty Macy's perfume on me as we were walking out that made me want to vomit the rest of the day

Staten Island Ferry Hot Dog anyone?? leave it to my cute mom to keep us fed and full on ferry hot dogs, they saved us as we were all starving

ah, the Statue of Liberty, love it, my kids loved seeing it - beautiful day

yes folks, can you believe I put so many pictures up - just had to do it, it was a trip to remember - thanks mom and dad!

Looks like you had a wonderful trip here on the East Coast (we only live about 2 hours from NYC). We still have never ventured into the Big Apple for Christmas, but we may get there yet...
